On Dealing With “Bitches”
Posted on September 25th, 2011 No commentsSo I was doing some talking and thinking the other day about how some of the girls in our school are complete and utter bitches, and how some of them are more tolerable then others to us guys. And I think I stumbled as to why they are more tolerable, they are easy! I don’t want to sound sexist, it’s not like this is conscious, at least not to me, but, If a woman is a pain in the ass, but sometimes flashes you, its easier to put up with because you know she may randomly put on a show. Now, this doesn’t work for the other, non-bitchy ladies. So this is a huge source of social duress, there’s no high point for a woman to keep another woman around if she is a bitch.

On Fixing a Damaged Industry
Posted on July 14th, 2011 No commentsThere’s a lot of talk going on now a days about how the pre-owned game systems like those found at GameStop and people re-selling games in online marketplaces like Amazon.com are taking a lot of money away from the developers of these games because as we all know, the developers don’t see any money from pre-owned game sales. Less money going to developers’ means that they have to be pickier about which games they invest in and that means more of the same type of games because they have to go with what works. They don’t have the money to be experimenting with. So developers are implementing systems in games to make it more desirable to have a new copy over a pre owned one. Mass Effect 2 had an online pass that gave you access to special content that is free with a new copy of the game, and if you got a pre owned copy, you had to pay extra to download this pass. Dragon’s Age 2 gave you a special edition of the game for pre-ordering a new copy which came with content that’s still not available as DLC. Personally, I don’t buy preowned. And I only sell games that I think suck. Because of Federal Copyright Laws, video games cannot be returned if they suck. So I got to do what I can get recoup my losses on crap games. I kind of wish they could be returned but I understand with piracy that would cause huge losses. Okay, back on track. One thing that I would love to see as a measure to keep people from trading in games is exclusive DLC for a game that can only be accessed by inserting a copy of the prequel to that game into your system. Using game discs themselves as codes for access to content in newer games. Sure there would be other ways for people to get the game disc to get the content like borrowing it from a friend, renting, or just buying a pre-owned copy, but people get rid of games when they feel they have gotten all they can from it, and if the games can still benefit them in upcoming games, they would be less likely to trade them in. This would reduce the amount of pre-owned games on the market. In the end, people are going to do what they are going to do. I just think this would be neat to see happen. Although I don’t know if the costs of implementing this kind of system would really be worth it in the end. It’s just a thought.

On Low Cut Shirts and Breastfeeding
Posted on August 23rd, 2010 No commentsEven if you don’t have kids, you can probably imagine this scenario. You make cookies and the kid is all like, “I want some” and you are all like, “No it will ruin your dinner” so you put the plate of cookies on the counter out of the kids reach. The kid is not stupid and won’t take your shit. So tippy toes are stood up on and even if the kid can only get one finger on that plate of cookies, it’s coming down. Now imagine this scenario. You have a baby. Not so young that it is at your complete mercy, it can sit in the front of those shopping carts without falling through, able to manipulate things with its hands. But not old enough that breastfeeding it would be deemed creepy. So what happens when you wear a low cut shirt keeping the “cookies” just out of reach of baby who knows that those boobs are its source of tastiness? It will pull that shirt down. The moral of the story, if you breastfeed, keep those cookies locked up tighter or else everyone in the toys department will see your boobs. True Story.

On Alternate Realities
Posted on July 20th, 2010 No commentsI was driving home from school today thinking about how crappy yesterday was and how I hope today is better and it got me thinking about how the Barrys of alternate realities have been doing lately. And then I realized one thing. It is possible that there are an infinite number of alternate realities where I am already dead. Now yesterday doesn’t look so bad.

On Addiction
Posted on July 19th, 2010 No commentsI don’t smoke, drink or do drugs, but I do know a thing or two about addictions. I don’t see how people can say marijuana is not addictive unless they are lying to themselves or an idiot. There may not be a chemical dependency associated with it, but if there is something out there that you enjoy doing so much that in the process of getting and using it, you are negatively affecting you professional and social life, then you are addicted. I’m sorry but that’s the way it works.

Lesbians Vs The Penis
Posted on May 23rd, 2010 No commentsI don’t really know how I want to start this one, but it’s about lesbians. Not all lesbians, but I can’t really say which ones it’s about till the end. And it’s based on an observation I have noticed in a few of these particular lesbians. These women give up men because they hate how men are pigs and use women for sex and blah blah blah… you know the routine. But what I have seen is that some, not all, of these women are just as bad to their girlfriends then men are. I like to compare it to that book, Animal Farm by George Orwell. The pigs get rid of the humans because they don’t like how their fellow animals are treated. And then by the end of the book they become humans. These lesbians start looking like a man, acting like a man, and I’m just waiting for the day where they just pop out a penis.

On Facebook “Friends”
Posted on March 18th, 2010 No commentsI work at a retail store in a small town. Pretty much everyone who doesn’t leave the town works there and I will tell you there is more drama there then in high school. Everyone is stabbing everyone else in the back and lying to their face. And yet, they are all still friends on Facebook. Just because they work together! I don’t know, maybe I have high standards for who sees my rants on Facebook, but I won’t add anyone I wouldn’t hang out with. You got people with 200+ friends, and I’m sure they hate half of them! Is that number next to the friend count really that important that you would add people who have nothing nice to say about you behind your back? Not for me. I’m sorry but I have standards for who I consider a friend.

On Pre-Owned Games
Posted on February 22nd, 2010 No commentsI was talking to friend and ex-GameStop employee the other day about the knowledge of the GameStop staff and I was informed that sometimes it was allowable for the employees to take home products for a few days to test out and learn about so they would be better able to recommend products to their customers. In theory, that’s a good idea, but it got me thinking. Am I buying something that is labeled as new but has in fact been used by the employees? I know that they open a copy of the game to use the case as a display, and I have purchased the display game due to them not having any sealed copies (at full price I might add) and it was covered with fingerprints. More than there should have been for just moving the disk from the case to protective sleeve they used to store the disk behind the counter. Now, as a person who likes to sell stuff online, I know for a fact that just removing the plastic from a game, it’s no longer new. You can no longer sell it as new. And yet GameStop gets away with doing that. So be cautious when shopping *new* merchandise at your local GameStop. Make sure it’s new, it’s what you are paying for.

On Downloadable Content
Posted on February 22nd, 2010 No commentsDownloadable content was never something that I gave much thought to. When this first started to happen, I got excited that the game developers were giving me a reason to play games that I have completed and have been long since bored of. But as I re-played these games to get to the new content, I come to notice how they didn’t really add anything worthy to the game. It would have been nice to have the content available on my first play through of the game, but nothing worth the trip down memory lane. Recently, I’m starting to notice a trend that I find very disturbing as a consumer. Game developers are releasing games that have DLC available almost immediately. Now, I realize that there is a period of time from the point that a game is “finished” and it is actually on the shelf ready to be sold. This is due to the process of actually putting the game on a disk and packaging it all up. And this time is a good time to create these downloadable projects to have it available the day a game is released, but it tells me that the game developers weren’t happy with the game as it was, but released it anyways. And then, they charge me for the things they wish they had the time to put in a game.
Some developers do provide some of this new content free to the first owner of the copy of the game. And that’s ok if you’re one of those people who doesn’t buy pre-owned games, but if you do buy, you may find it would have been cheaper to just shell out the cash for the “complete” of the game instead of having to pay to get the missing parts. One example that comes to mind is Dragon Age: Origins. On the game case, it is advertised that the free content you get with the game is a new playable character worth 15$. The quest and character you get from the DLC, to me, was not worth 15$. The quest to get the character took me like an hour to do and the character was nothing special to me. Now, I don’t know how much the character would be to buy for a used copy of the game because I had the new version, but it’s just ridiculous in my opinion. If you are going to advertise a part of the game on the case of the game, include it on the disk.

Zombie Protection Insurance.
Posted on December 1st, 2009 No commentsOkay. This is what I am going to do. I am going to charge my clients a onetime fee of $15,000 and $5,000 for each extra immediate family member. I will take each person’s initial investment and use it to buy buildings and vehicles. I will then fortify them to protect against zombies and raiders. Upon the start of the zombie apocalypse, my staff and I will venture out, find our clients and escort them back to our facilities until a time where it is safe for them the venture back into the world.
Now, those who pay for this service will not be taking it easy in my buildings. Their investment only keeps them inside the building. Gets them safe and off the streets. They still have to earn their keep. Everyone will be responsible for something that keeps the place running smoothly.
My staff will consist mainly of volunteers. Those who don’t mind going out into the wilds to get my clients back to safety. Preferably those with experience shooting things. But I don’t want a big group of people. The more people, the more could go wrong. So maybe like 6 people in a well fortified HMMWV with about 3 guns each. Maybe a turret on top just for worst case scenarios.
I need to start drawing up plans for buildings and vehicles.
